The "Oleg Danovski" National Opera and Ballet Theatre Constanța continues the 2026–2027 season with one of the most beloved comic operas in the universal lyrical repertoire: "The Elixir of Love" by Gaetano Donizetti.

The show will take place on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 18:30, on the stage of "Regina Maria" National College of Arts in Constanța, in a performance full of humor, sensitivity, and emotion, where love, hope, and naivety meet in a captivating story.

In Donizetti's world, the answer is never that simple to the question of whether a magic potion exists. When true love is put to the test, an "elixir" can become the beginning of an adventure full of comical situations and plot twists.

Composed by Gaetano Donizetti, “The Elixir of Love” is one of the most representative operas of the Italian comic genre. The story of Nemorino, the young lover who believes a miraculous potion will make him loved by Adina, is constructed with great finesse and humor, but also with moments of authentic sensitivity.

At the center of the performance is the contrast between Nemorino's naivety, Adina's independence and intelligence, and the appearance of Dulcamara, the character who transforms hope into a true adventure. Donizetti's music gives each character a distinct identity, creating a colorful and dynamic spectacle.

The cast brings together: Georgiana Medeleanu, Mădălin Băldău, Marius Eftimie and Mihaela Ionescu.
