Born in 1990 in Râmnicu-Vâlcea, Bogdan began studying the cobza at 15 years old. Starting in 2006, he traveled throughout Romania collecting lăutărești songs and learning from the few remaining cobza players. He collaborated with artists from diverse musical scenes, such as Mihai Mărgineanu, Taraf de Haidouks, Les Elephants Bizarres, Chimie, Samurai, and others.
Since 2017, he has performed numerous lăutărească music concerts with the band Lautarii de Matase. He worked on the soundtracks of the documentaries "Flavours of Romania" and "Wild Carpathia," produced by British journalist Charlie Ottley. On May 1, 2021, he released the album "Valahia in Demol," and on May 1, 2023, he released the album "Drum pavat cu bolovani," which holds a sales record of 1000 copies sold in 9 hours. Both albums were produced by Adrian Despot. Bogdan’s music has three main directions: a thread of Romanian peasant music, one of urban lăutărească music, and one of generic Romanian pop music (waltzes, tangos, and cabaret songs from the early 20th century up to post-World War II).
The cobza sound is enhanced by Nelu Răducanu (cimbalom), Mandi Pană (violin), Cornel Neacșu (accordion), Robert Adam-Szoltan (double bass), Cristi Adam (viola-braci), and Vicenzo Deacu (piano).
