Born in 1990 in Râmnicu-Vâlcea, Bogdan began studying the cobza at the age of 15. Starting from 2006, he traveled throughout Romania, collecting lăutărești songs and learning from the few remaining cobza players. He has collaborated with artists from various musical areas, such as Mihai Mărgineanu, Taraf de Haidouks, Les Elephants Bizarres, Chimie, Samurai, and others.
Since 2017, he has performed numerous lăutărească music concerts with the band Lăutarii de Mătase. He worked on the soundtrack for the documentaries "Flavours of Romania" and "Wild Carpathia" created by British journalist Charlie Ottley. On May 1, 2021, he released the album "Valahia în Demol", and on May 1, 2023, he released the album "Drum pavat cu bolovani", which holds a small sales record (1000 copies sold out in 9 hours). Both albums were produced by Adrian Despot. Bogdan's music has three general directions: a line of Romanian peasant music, urban lăutărească music, and generic Romanian pop music (waltzes, tangos, and cabaret songs from the early 20th century until after World War II).
The sound of the cobzar is enhanced by Nelu Răducanu (cimbalom), Mandi Pană (violin), Cornel Neacșu (accordion), Robert Adam-Szoltan (double bass), Cristi Adam (viola-braci), and Vicenzo Deacu (pianino).
