Born in 1990 in Râmnicu-Vâlcea, Bogdan began studying the cobza at the age of 15. Starting in 2006, he traveled through Romania, collecting lăutărești songs and learning from the few cobza players still alive. He collaborated with artists from various musical genres, such as Mihai Mărgineanu, Taraf de Haidouks, Les Elephants Bizarres, Chimie, Samurai, and others.
Since 2017, he has held numerous lăutărești music concerts with the band Lăutarii de mătase. He worked on the soundtracks for the documentaries “Flavours of Romania” and “Wild Carpathia” created by the British journalist Charlie Ottley. On May 1, 2021, he released the album “Valahia în Demol,” and on May 1, 2023, he released the album “Drum pavat cu bolovani,” which holds a small sales record (1,000 copies sold out in 9 hours). Both albums were produced by Adrian Despot. Bogdan's music has three general directions: a vein of Romanian peasant music, one of urban lăutărești music, and one of generic Romanian pop music (waltzes, tangos, and cabaret songs from the early 20th century until after World War II).
The cobzar's sound is enhanced by Nelu Răducanu (cimbalom), Mandi Pană (violin), Cornel Neacșu (accordion), Robert Adam-Szoltan (double bass), Cristi Adam (viola), and Vicenzo Deacu (piano).
