"The opera represents a large musical work, on a libretto written in the '70s by Victor Cârcu. This work can be presented both as a classical opera and in concert form. The birth of "Meșterul Manole" was as difficult as the realization of its constructions. The difficulty was mainly in finding the musical language that would align with the text. Once we found this language, inspired by folklore, of course, we began the work, which lasted from 2008 until today (2013), with a two-year interruption." – Josef Kappl
