“Starting from the famous Romanian operetta composed by Gherase Dendrino, we adapted the libretto of the Delescu-Sever-Cosma triad into a concert-event show that honors the life and work of Ciprian Porumbescu. The stage thus becomes a large photo album through which Ciprian himself guides us, making us witnesses to the events that deeply marked the existence of the great Romanian musician: the premiere of the first Romanian operetta Crai nou, the love for Berta Gorgon, the period of imprisonment and illness. Let me sing celebrates the talent and spirit of this great musician and, equally, great Romanian, who has left us a cultural heritage that we have a duty not to forget.”

The concert-show “Let me sing” is part of the cultural project “Let me sing” in the Modern Era – The Renaissance of the Romanian Operetta, funded by the Ministry of Culture and implemented by the Start Creativ Association, in partnership with the National Operetta and Musical Theater “Ion Dacian”.
