It's the spring of 1714. Constantin Brâncoveanu, ruler of Wallachia, loses his throne and is forced to face his last months in captivity with his sons. As the Ottoman power demands its tribute, Brâncoveanu is caught between duty to his family and faith, between promises and sacrifice.
🎭Starting from a contemporary text, Constantin evocatively explores an essential landmark in national history, delving not only into the biography of ruler Constantin Brâncoveanu but also the contributions made to the culture, art, and politics of the time.
🎭The show’s cast brings together 20 renowned Romanian theater artists, in a setting designed to recreate visually, audibly, and olfactorily a decisive era for the development of Romanian civilization, all realized in a heritage architectural ensemble – Bragadiru Palace.
🎭Project funded by non-refundable funds granted by the Local Council of Sector 5 through the Ștefan Iordache Cultural and Youth Center, under the 2023 non-refundable funding program.
