DULCE ROMANIE – Concert extraordinar

SWEET ROMANIA – Extraordinary concert with tenor ŞTEFAN von KORCH, baritones ADRIAN MĂRCAN and FANG SHUANG, and pianist ALEXANDRU BURCĂ

November 27, 2024, at 19:00

Sala Dalles, Bucharest

The most beautiful pages from Romanian musical stories find their way to the audience's hearts in a concert that honors local music, from operetta and lied to enchanting pieces from Little Paris or refrains that accompanied the love stories of the '70s.
Tenor Ștefan von Korch, the host of the Musical Extravaganza series, says: "The national musical heritage is extremely rich and too little highlighted, which is why in this series of concerts there will be a dedicated event. I invite you to enjoy arias from Romanian operettas, lieds of immense finesse, and also reference melodies outside the classical sphere, in a recital with a purely Romanian program."

The Dulce Românie concert is part of the musical tales written throughout 2024 at Sala Dalles, by tenor Ștefan von Korch and his guests, in the Musical Extravaganza concert series that creates a bridge between the rich world of opera, the sparkling one of operetta, and contemporary music.

With an exponential national and international evolution, Ştefan von Korch will conclude the year at Sala Palatului as a guest in the Anniversary Concert for 20 Years of Viennese Christmas. In 2023, the tenor thrilled the hearts of spectators with masterful performances of his specific repertoire from Carmina Burana, for which he is considered a benchmark and was the only Romanian soloist in a tour of 27 cities in China. Other highlights of his career include major roles in operas and operettas presented on the biggest stages in Romania: "The Barber of Seville," "The Elixir of Love" and "Falstaff" (National Opera of Bucharest), "Rigoletto," "The Merry Widow" and "The Merry Widow 2.0" (National Opera of Iaşi), "I Puritani" (national premiere) "Rigoletto" and "The Barber of Seville" (Romanian Opera Cluj-Napoca) and others.

In 2022, he expanded his repertoire with the title role in the European premiere of the show "Traiano in Dacia," by Giuseppe Nicolini, staged at the Romanian Opera in Cluj-Napoca, and his portfolio also includes roles in 3 absolute national premieres: the opera "I Puritani" at the Romanian Opera in Cluj-Napoca (2016) where he performed the highest part written for a male voice, the opera "La Sonnambula," by Vicenzo Bellini (2018) and the presence on the stage of the Radio Hall in Bucharest in the absolute national premiere of the vocal-symphonic work "Messa di Gloria" by Rossini (2019).
