“Cinderella – The Voice of the Kingdom", the show that has been playing to full houses since its premiere, returns in the new season of the Musical Theatre Ambassadors!

Who hasn't heard of “Cinderella"? Who doesn't know the story of the good-hearted poor girl named Cinderella, who is treated cruelly by her stepmother and stepsisters? Despite the unfair treatment, the young lady in the story remains kind and wise. With the help of a good fairy and a magical ball, Cinderella gets a chance to fulfill her dream of attending the royal ball, where she meets the prince and falls in love with him. However, at midnight, she flees and loses her glass slipper, which becomes the clue the prince uses to find her. After many searches, he identifies Cinderella and offers her the slipper to try on, the story ending happily with their marriage.

“Cinderella – The Voice of the Kingdom" is a show about finding one's voice/calling/vocation and following it, no matter the obstacles that may arise. It is a show about music, about working hard, about being talented, and about seizing the opportunity to fulfill your dream. Ella, a shy and withdrawn girl from our times, is a sensitive nature who can only express herself through song, which gives voice to her true personality, and when she is on stage, she shines. The protagonist wishes to participate in the casting for the premiere of “Cinderella" within the high school. The roles of the stepsisters Grizella and Anastasia are performed by two actors to obtain a comic, satirical, and caricatural effect of the mean sisters, who are not feminine and lack musical talent. Their interpretation contrasts with Ella's sensitivity and gentleness.

Her dream is to make her voice heard, to be a complete artist: to sing, to dance, to be like the heroines of the childhood stories her mother read to her when she was little. Ella is not just a simple character who dreams of being a princess, but she wants to develop and express her artistic talent in its fullness, including singing and dancing. The place where Ella feels best is a pristine, atypical, intriguing one: the attic. There, alongside the childhood toys (Mousey, Guz Guz, and Coco Cheese, her friends and the birds in the attic), she often rereads childhood stories and this time will give a performance. Whenever she needs to be alone with her dream, she goes to this place, which is a portal to the past, to the beginning of beginnings, the place where Ella often performs and where she tells her mother about every progress, every desire, and what she has accomplished for her dream. Singing is a comfort for her, a motivating force, a way to overcome life's obstacles with optimism, a promise made to her mother to make her talent known. For Ella, Cinderella's story is not just about finding a love or a prince. It's about finding her voice, following her passion, and believing that anything is possible when you have the courage to believe in your dreams.

“Cinderella" is a production of the Musical Theatre Ambassadors, the only theatre for children and youth under the Ministry of Culture, which this year celebrates its 5th anniversary since its establishment.
