Yasmina Reza (b. 1959, Paris) is one of the most successful contemporary playwrights, also an actress, screenwriter, and novelist, and a multiple laureate of the Molière and Tony Awards, with her plays translated into over 35 languages and performed on the world's most famous stages.

Born into a Jewish family (Hungarian mother and half-Russian, half-Iranian father), young Yasmina developed an unusually strong sensitivity, an excessive conscience, inclined towards major existential issues. She holds a degree in Sociology and studied theater at Nanterre. She then tried her luck at the Conservatory but was rejected and attended the „Jacques Lecoq“ School. In 1994, with the play „Art”, she quickly became a globally renowned writer, and America welcomed her with open arms.
Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an enormous capacity to juggle narrative and dramatic registers. "How can an apple change the course of history? Astrophysicist Henri and his wife Sonia, a businesswoman, are spending an almost quiet evening at home. Their plans are disrupted because, suddenly, Inès and Hubert, Henri's boss, knock on the door, a day earlier than scheduled!
The four characters are caught in a web of conventions, passions, and fear of loneliness, amidst conversations about the universe and human existence. In the search for their own meaning, the need for recognition and self-esteem becomes palpable. There are surprising twists, changing alliances, and always new variants of escalation. It's a brilliant tragicomedy about life”
