The Musical Theater Ambassadors, through the show “De-a Harap Alb”, promotes Romanian culture and stories among the young audience. “De-a Harap Alb” is a performance that brings Creangă's characters to the stage, in a modern vision, through the eyes of today's teenagers. Using music, dance, and humor as main tools, we aim to familiarize the new generation of children with Creangă's universe, using references they are familiar with.

The show starts with Horia, a teenager who, like any other teenager, has disputes with his father on taking responsibility, argues with his best friend Maria, who accuses him of selfishness and always relying on her for school assignments - this time it's about the Romanian fairy tale, a reference subject in Romanian Language and Literature.

But who needs such stories today? Do we still have something to learn from them? With such questions, Horia ends up playing "De-a Harap Alb" and, through the protagonist's role, enters a story at the border between dream and reality. He embarks on an initiatory journey at the end of which he will gain values such as responsibility, patience, generosity, courage, forgiveness. The show proposes a new formula for reconnecting with local heroes who have intersected generations over time, but this new adaptation aims to reintegrate the poetry, humor, and essence of Creangă's story into the rhythm of today's adolescence, which is effervescent, impatient, curious, and always in search of novelty.

Although the essence of Creangă's story remains intact, approaching with a contemporary language is the key to extracting exactly those values that today's youth can access as resources for personal development.

This show is a production of the Musical Theater Ambassadors, the only children's and youth theater under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, which this year celebrates 5 years since its establishment.
