"The Threepenny Opera", by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, brings to the stage a miserable world of thieves, beggars and prostitutes of London's Soho. Through satirical musical moments, the show raises essential questions about morality, humanity and poverty. This marginal world is shaken by the hanging of the king of thieves, Mackie Knife, after a series of crimes committed with the help of the corrupt police chief, Tiger Brown. Through grandiose song and dance moments, the show contrasts with the life of the lowest kind of man. And among the beggars there is a boss, and among the thieves a king. What does truth and justice mean in a world of crime and theft?
