The play is a comedy for two, about a couple over 40 who are trying to "fix" their lives without realizing they are spectacularly complicating them. Vincent and Marie have been together for over 20 years and have two children. On paper, they've checked all the boxes.
In reality, they are experiencing what most couples over 40 experience: fatigue, routine, unexpressed desires, fear of change, and the feeling that "something else" is missing. And when Marie asks for a real transformation, Vincent finds himself forced to step out of his comfort zone — sometimes with astonishingly funny results.
"Do you NOT want to be my wife?" is a comedy about the midlife crisis, pride, desire, and freedom in a couple — with rapid-fire dialogue, intelligent romantic tension, and an ending that shows how thin the line is between "we're breaking up" and "we're starting over." (And how dangerous it is to involve friends...)
