"The Lesson" is an adaptation of Eugène Ionesco's play of the same name and presents the fate of students who, once they reach their teacher's hour, become victims, gradually transforming into his puppets. This performance speaks about alienation, depersonalization, the communication barrier between teacher-student, and generally between people, the absurdity of the everyday and language, form without substance. It attacks intellectual presumption, the monotony of mechanized life lacking spirituality, which can lead humans to dehumanization and brutalization.
