It is the spring of 1714. Constantin Brâncoveanu, ruler of Wallachia, loses his throne and is forced to face his last months in captivity, alongside his sons. As the Ottoman power demands its tribute, Brâncoveanu finds himself torn between his duty to his family and faith, between promises and sacrifice.
🎭Starting from a contemporary text, Constantin provocatively evokes a pivotal moment in national history, exploring not only the biography of Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu, but also the contribution to the culture, art, and politics of the time.
🎭The performance's cast brings together 20 renowned artists of Romanian theater, in a setting designed to visually, audibly, and olfactorily recreate a decisive era for the development of Romanian civilization, all realized in a heritage architectural ensemble – Bragadiru Palace.
🎭Project funded by non-reimbursable funds granted by the Local Council of Sector 5 through the Ştefan Iordache Youth and Cultural Center, within the 2023 non-reimbursable funding program
