National Tour Bogdan Mihai Simion & Lăutarii de Mătase 

The tour enjoys a new musicality !!! The traditional music collector and one of the last cobză players in Romania, Simion Bogdan-Mihai, along with his band, Lăutarii de Mătase, embark on a new tour, bringing in a renowned trumpeter!

Born in 1990 in Râmnicu-Vâlcea, Bogdan started studying the cobză at only 15 years old, dedicating his life to the collection and interpretation of authentic lăutărească music. Since 2006, he has traveled through Romania, discovering forgotten songs and learning from the last cobzari of the tradition.

Over the years, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Mihai Mărgineanu, Taraf de Haidouks, Les Elephants Bizarres, Chimie, Samurai, and many others. He created the soundtrack for the successful documentaries “Flavours of Romania” and “Wild Carpathia,” directed by British journalist Charlie Ottley.

His albums – “Valahia în Demol” (2021) and “Drum pavat cu bolovani” (2023), both produced by Adrian Despot – have broken sales records and established him as one of the most important contemporary traditional music artists.

His music combines three major influences: Romanian peasant music, urban lăutărească music, and classical Romanian pop music (waltzes, tangos, and cabaret songs from the first half of the 20th century).

The Lăutarii de Mătase band brings together:
