In our society, in theater plays, TV series, and shows, there is increasing talk about modern marriage and the freedom to have partners outside of marriage, while still remaining in the husband/wife relationship or even about saving the couple from separation through fleeting extramarital relationships of both spouses. "All couples who tried have miserably failed." In the end, it proves not to be a solution for saving the marriage but a path towards the loss of the couple.

 "Divorce of the Year" is a play adapted by the great actor Ion Lucian himself, based on an idea from a famous film from the '70s.

The play humorously and ironically with dramatic accents treats the husband-wife relationship of people heading toward "third youth" caught in the whirlpool of "the hypocrisy of modern conveniences."

 Cast in order of appearance on stage: Ovidiu Cuncea, Monica Davidescu, Aurelian Temisan.

  The direction is signed by Ovidiu Cuncea, the scenography is created by Gabi Albu, and costumes by Ellida Toma.
