In our society, in plays, in television series, and in shows, there is increasing talk about modern marriage and the freedom to have partners outside of marriage while remaining in the relationship of husband/wife or even about saving a couple from separation through maintaining fleeting extramarital relationships of both spouses. "All couples who have tried have failed miserably." Ultimately, it proves that it is not a solution for saving marriage but a path to losing the couple.
''Divorce of the Year" is an adapted play by the great actor Ion Lucian, based on an idea from a famous film from the '70s.
The play comically and ironically addresses the husband-wife relationship of people heading towards "a third youth" who find themselves caught in the whirlpool of "the hypocrisy of modern conveniences".
The cast in the order of appearance on stage: Ovidiu Cuncea, Monica Davidescu, Aurelian Temisan.
The direction is signed by Ovidiu Cuncea, the set design was created by Gabi Albu, and costumes were made by Ellida Toma.
