More Păcală than Tândală
The Musical Theater Ambasadorii awaits you for a super show, an adventure full of joy, where you will find texts adapted from the writings of Ion Luca Caragiale, Ion Creangă, Ioan Slavici, Costache Negruzzi, and Petre Dulfu.
Through the story of the two jesters, Păcală and Tândală, the little ones enter a purely Romanian universe and discover an archaic world, unknown to them, through the humor specific to country life, songs, and traditional popular expressions. The message of the show is that, through spark, ingenuity, and humor, any problem can be solved – this is how our heroes achieve everything they set out to do.
“More Păcală than Tândală” is a carousel of songs, dances, sayings, and jokes, all embedded in our collective memory, such that even the young generation of children can recognize some of the elements that create the rural universe of the two pranksters.
The action takes place at the borderline between reality and the supernatural, in a space where stories with fairies and folk tales are still kept alive: in the countryside. Among haystacks, with ritual masks, music, and celebration, a story is told by the fire's mouth of some fantastic characters from another realm.
Minimum recommended age: 5 years
This show is a production of the Musical Theater Ambasadorii, the only theater for children and youth under the tutelage of the Ministry of Culture, which this year celebrates 5 years since its establishment.
