The Metropolitan Center for Education and Culture Ioan I.Dalles proposes an exceptional cultural event.

Vivaldi vs. Piazzolla: The Dialogue of the Seasons between Baroque and Argentinian Tango in the same musical idea

The event takes place on Saturday, November 14th at 7:00 PM at Sala Dalles.

Two Geniuses, Two Visions, The Same Sensitivity of the Seasons

Although separated by more than two centuries, Antonio Vivaldi (1678–1741) and Ástor Piazzolla (1921–1992) share the same descriptive genius and a unique ability to transform nature into pure emotion.

· Antonio Vivaldi, the undisputed master of Venetian Baroque, revolutionized programmatic music with „The Four Seasons”. His work is a sonic painting rendered with astonishing detail: from the cheerful chirping of spring birds and the scorching summer storms, to the rustic dances of autumn and the sharp frost of winter. His music pulsates with light, elegant rigor, and vital energy, reflecting the order and beauty of nature.

· Ástor Piazzolla, the innovative father of the Nuevo Tango style, moved the concept of seasons to the vibrant, melancholic, and sensual streets of Buenos Aires. In "Estaciones Porteñas", spring becomes an urban rebirth, and winter brings with it the deep nostalgia and intimacy of Argentine cafes. Piazzolla breaks classical patterns with syncopated rhythms, dramatic accents, and intense expressiveness, bringing a note of modern freedom and burning passion.

When the luminous rigor of Venetian baroque meets the melancholy and sensuality of Argentine tango, the result is a vibrant musical experience – a sonic conversation about how the passage of time feels and is lived in two completely different worlds.

We invite you to an exceptional musical event, a fascinating dialogue across centuries and two continents, where baroque music harmoniously intersects with the passion of Argentine tango.

On November 14th, Dalles Hall becomes the stage for a fascinating artistic confrontation: Vivaldi vs. Piazzolla.

The two absolute masterpieces, „Le quattro stagioni” by Antonio Vivaldi and Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas” by Ástor Piazzolla, will be put face to face, taking the audience through an emotional carousel, breaking down temporal barriers.

An exceptional Trio: Natalia Pancec, Mădălina Fara, Andrei Licareț bring this complex dialogue to life on the stage of Dalles Hall

To bring this complex dialogue to life, three remarkable musicians from the international and national scene will take the stage at Dalles Hall:

 Natalia Pancec – Violin

An exceptional violinist on Romania's music scene, who works as a section leader for the first violins and concertmaster at the prestigious "George Enescu" Philharmonic Orchestra in Bucharest. Appreciated for her impeccable technique and interpretive sensitivity, Natalia is frequently involved in large-scale chamber projects and crossover artistic collaborations that bring classical music closer to the general public. Her violin will be the central voice that will guide the audience through both the finesse of baroque ornaments and the passionate accents of tango.

 Mădălina Fara – Cello

Principal cellist of the "George Enescu" Philharmonic Orchestra in Bucharest, Mădălina Fara is an artist who has won numerous international awards, with a rich and remarkable activity in chamber music projects. Throughout her career, she has benefited from the guidance of legendary masters such as Marin Cazacu, Radu Aldulescu, Vladimir Orlov, Franz Helmerson, and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi. The freshness and depth of her sound will provide the necessary rhythmic and emotional foundation for this challenging repertoire.

 Andrei Licareț – Piano

Recognized by specialized critics as a "musician who ventures to the very core of music" (România Literarǎ) and whose "rich artistic maturity and depth surpass mere skill" (L'Unione Sarda), Andrei Licareț is one of the most appreciated pianists of his generation. With a career that includes famous stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Merkin Hall, Salle Flagey, or the Small Hall of the Moscow Philharmonic, Andrei Licareț brings a profound artistic vision, perfected under the guidance of legends such as Leon Fleisher, Jacques Rouvier, or Richard Goode. He has collaborated as a soloist with the most important Romanian orchestras and with renowned ensembles abroad under the baton of prestigious conductors such as Vladimir Jurowski or Cristian Mandeal, while also being a winner of important international awards.

We await you on November 14th at Sala Dalles for an unforgettable evening, where virtuosity, baroque elegance, and the fire of Argentine tango will intertwine in a fascinating spectacle for the senses!
