The National Opera and Ballet Theatre “Oleg Danovski” Constanța presents “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi

Within the 2026-2027 season, The National Opera and Ballet Theatre “Oleg Danovski” Constanța invites the public to one of the most famous and appreciated masterpieces of the universal lyrical repertoire: “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi.

The show will take place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, starting at 18:30, on the stage of the Constanța Trade Union House of Culture.

Inspired by the drama “Le Roi s’amuse” by Victor Hugo, Giuseppe Verdi’s opera tells the tragic story of the jester Rigoletto, caught between court intrigues, paternal love, the desire for revenge, and a destiny he cannot escape. Through the power of music and the depth of its characters, “Rigoletto” explores universal themes such as love, sacrifice, honor, power, and human fragility.

Verdi's score is one of the most expressive creations in the operatic repertoire, bringing together moments of great dramatic intensity and musical passages that have become emblematic of opera history. From the famous "La donna è mobile" to the dramatic confrontations between characters, the performance offers a succession of moments where music and theatre intertwine in a moving story.

At the conductor's podium will be Tiberiu Dragoș Oprea, who will lead the Orchestra and Choir of the "Oleg Danovski" National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Constanța.

The cast brings together theater artists in a scenic formula that highlights the complexity and drama of Verdi's masterpiece: Daniel Pop, Silvia Simionescu, Doru Iftene, Lucia, Mihalache, Mihai Teodoru, Gabriela Dobre, Cristian Caragea, Mircea Găvan, Andrei, Băican, Iulian Bratu, Georgiana Medeleanu, Iulia Stănei, Octavian Minea.

Through this performance, the "Oleg Danovski" National Opera and Ballet Theatre continues the program of the 2026-2027 season, bringing one of the great titles of the Italian repertoire to the Constanța public and offering a new encounter with the dramatic universe of Giuseppe Verdi.
