The musician-collector of traditional music Simion Bogdan-Mihai - THE LUTE PLAYER, along with the band Lautarii de Matase returns to Buzau at the County Council Hall on March 26, 2025, at 19:30 Born in 1990 in Ramnicu-Vilcea, Bogdan began studying the lute at the age of 15. Starting in 2006, he traveled through Romania, collecting traditional songs and learning from the few surviving lute players. He has collaborated with artists from diverse musical areas, such as Mihai Mărgineanu, Taraf de Haidouks, Les Elephants Bizarres, Chimie, Samurai, and others. Since 2017, he has held numerous concerts of traditional music with the band Lautarii de Matase. He worked on the soundtrack for the documentaries "Flavours of Romania" and "Wild Carpathia" made by British journalist Charlie Ottley. On May 1, 2021, he released the album "Valahia in Demol," and on May 1, 2023, he released the album "Drum pavat cu bolovani," which holds a small sales record (1000 copies sold out in 9 hours). Both albums were produced by Adrian Despot. Bogdan's music has three general directions: a strain of Romanian peasant music, one of urban traditional music, and one of generic Romanian pop music (waltzes, tangos, and cabaret songs from the early 20th century until after World War II).
