About our lecturer:
ADRIANA SĂFTOIU is recognized in the public space as one of the most experienced specialists in the field of public communication and public relations. She graduated from the Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest, Romanian-Spanish section, with a year of specialization in Comparative Literature (1993), was a journalist at Rompres and Mediafax (1993-1998), after which she was part of Radu Vasile's team, becoming the spokesperson for the Government. From 2000 to 2007, she worked with Traian Băsescu, as Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of Transport, Director of the PD Press Office, coordinator of the PR and media relations Department in the three electoral campaigns – Bucharest City Hall 2000, 2004, Presidential 2004.
From December 2004, she is a presidential advisor, spokesperson for the President of Romania. In April 2007, she resigned and remained in the private sector at her own PR and communication firm. In 2007, she published "Vocile puterii" (Voices of Power), a book that includes the experience of post-December spokespersons. In July 2008, she accepted the PNL's proposal to run for the Chamber of Deputies and won the college in the first position – uninominal vote. The campaign period becomes the subject of the book "Jurnal de campanie" (Campaign Diary).
In February 2012, he resigned from Parliament, being the only parliamentarian who renounced his mandate, as a sign of solidarity with the citizens who demanded early elections. From 2012 to 2016, when he won a new mandate as a deputy, he collaborated, through the company Strategist AS, with various companies, supporting communication training, public speaking, and crisis management. In 2015, he published "Cronică de Cotroceni" (Cotroceni Chronicle), becoming a "bestseller" at the Bookfest International Book Salon in May 2015, being in the top 5 best-selling books and being awarded the excellence prize at the Superscrieri Awards Gala.
Since 2021, he has been an associate professor at the West University of Timișoara, Faculty of Political Science, Philosophy and Communication Sciences, where he teaches the strategic communication course in the field of security. In March 2022, he published "Simfonia Semnelor" (Symphony of Signs), a book that reflects the concern for the deaf community, in this sense being also the initiator of the law by which Romanian Sign Language is recognized as the official language of deaf people.
