The "Oleg Danovski" National Theatre of Opera and Ballet Constanța opens the series of performances within the 2026-2027 season with one of the most beloved masterpieces of the universal lyrical repertoire: "The Barber of Seville" by Gioachino Rossini.
The performance will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, starting at 18:30, on the stage of National College of Arts "Regina Maria" in Constanța, and offers the public an encounter with the verve, humor, and unmistakable musical energy of Rossini's opera buffa.
"The Barber of Seville", one of the most famous creations of Gioachino Rossini, captivates with its spectacular rhythms, vocal virtuosity, and comical situations that transform the story into a true theatrical and musical feast. The characters Figaro, Rosina, and Count Almaviva meet in a plot full of disguises, entanglements, and plot twists, in a performance where music and theater complement each other at an effervescent pace.
At the conductor's podium will be Tiberiu Dragoș Oprea, who will lead the Orchestra and Choir of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre „Oleg Danovski” Constanța. The cast brings together acclaimed lyrical artists and young performers, offering the audience a dynamic and balanced cast: Daniel Pop, Marius Turtoi - debut, Orest Pîslariu - Bucharest, Florentina Soare - Brașov, Mihai Teodoru - debut, Gabriela Dobre, Iulian Bratu.
The performance is part of the constant endeavor of the "Oleg Danovski" National Opera and Ballet Theatre to bring representative titles of the lyrical repertoire to the Constanța public, uniting the experience of established artists with the energy and talent of the new generation.
